Last week, I finished book number 13 in my 2019 Reading Challenge. Goodreads claims I’m on track to reach my goal of 20 books. My main problem is I get distracted by interesting new titles and don’t finish other books. I have this same problem in knitting.

One of the British Hubby’s favorite books is The Alchemist. I thought it was high time I read it. The main character Santiago was on a quest to find his treasure. He starts of as a shepherd, then becomes a crystal/tea merchant and eventually has enough money to travel through the desert to Egypt. This is a tale about following ones journey or path through life and not taking the road well traveled. We each have our own destiny to follow.

The British Hubby thought this would be Burt if he wrote a book. I don’t know that he’s ever moved that fast unless he smelled tuna.

• Rupe – This is a classic cable scarf.
• Bandana Cowl – The pattern calls for bulky, but I would make this a lighter weight.
• Hitchhiker – This a light weight scarf/shawl.
• Captured – This is a light weight cowl. I’m currently making one for a friend.
• Grace Scarf – A lace scarf can be worn year round.
• Beeswax Scarf – This is a geometric scarf.
• Wheat – Another worsted weight scarf.
• Zigzag Wander – A fingering weight scarf.
• Windward – A fingering weight scarf with an interesting construction. It wears a bit more like a shawl.
• Drop Stitch Scarf – Another fun medium weight scarf.
• Shifting Sands – A medium weight cable scarf.
• One by One – This can be done in any weight. I think it would look fantastic with stripes in a variegated skein and solid skein.
• Mountain Pass – This could be a scarf or a cowl.
• Cinnamon Scone – You probably think I picked this one for the name alone. A simple textured cowl.
• Pedestrian Crossing Cowl – This cowl just looks fun.
• Yellow Brick Road – I must be on a button kick. Another fun cowl.

How’s your week going? Yesterday I saw a double rainbow, and today the sun came out all afternoon. Not bad for Autumn in the PNW.
