Tour de Sock has officially ended. A little research unearthed there were about 1660 finished pairs of socks knit during the Tour de Sock race. Maybe if you add up the five pairs I cast on during June and July, it might equal one finished pair (okay at least one finished sock). Here’s a group shot of my 2016 Tour de Socks. I made Shark Bait an honorary member.
Notice no green sock yarn. It was hanging out with Ernie in one of his many unusual sleep spots (last week we found him in the dirty laundry bin buried under my stinky workout clothing). I decided to frog the project. I just wasn’t digging the way the cables were going. Life is just too short to knit projects I don’t love.
Here are two projects I pulled out of my wip bin posing with my Portland Bias Scarf. The top is Frank in Paris. The pattern is Dentado Scarf by Lisa Myers. The yarn is Malabrigo Rios in Frank Ochre and soon Pairs Night (once I get to the stripes). The crescent shape is the beginning of Dewberry Dancer. The pattern is Pearldancer by Lisa Hannes. The yarn is Malabrigo Finito in Dewberry and Natural. Purple is my favorite color, and Dewberry is my all time favorite colorway. Finito is sort of like knitting with kitten belly fluff. It’s so soft. This shawl is going to be amazing. These are probably going to be new additions to my other wip section.
Update on other wips:
- Earth & Sky: Even more waiting!
- Charity Malt: I’m on row 61 of the stokinette section.

Ernie’s trying to earn his keep by contributing on work from home days. Sadly, his suggestions of more tuna weren’t taken seriously.
