“Dream as if you’ll live forever, live as if you’ll die today.” ~ James Dean
We all think we’re going to live forever. We act as if we have all the time in the world. Or maybe that’s just how it felt while we watched England sit in to defend a 1-0 score during the final match of the UEFA Euro 2020. The month of footy was very exciting so it seemed fitting the final would come down to penalty kicks.

England has yet to win this title. While Italy has now won it twice. In fact, this was England’s very first appearance in the championship match. Which makes it even more disappointing that after the goal two minutes in, the team didn’t try to attack more. Defending for 90 plus minutes is hard, and let’s face it, a bit boring to watch. Congrats to the Italian team for a well deserved title. And now we only have to wait another three years before the next Euro title. Will England fair better in 2024?

Gracie isn’t a footy fan. She hung out outside during the match. I think it’s too noisy for her.
How was your weekend?
At least your team made it to the finals. My team here in the US has been at the bottom of the heap since entering the MLS (US league). Couldn’t even win at home, with a one player advantage and up 2 goals. It’s going to be a looong season again this year.

That’s hard, Knittingissofun. We’ve had years like that with LFC. US soccer is interesting especially since players can make more money in overseas leagues. Hang in there. Any hope for new players to shake the team up?
