Methinks that the moment my legs began to move, my thoughts began to flow.
– Henry David Thoreau
The PNW is currently having a lovely Autumn with chilly mornings and sunny afternoons. My morning runs have been quite crisp. One of the benifts of clear cold mornings is being able to see the full moon while I run. Okay, it also helps I’m up at 4:00 a.m. This morning most of my run was just me and the moon light. There’s something rather comforting about hearing your shoes pound the moon drenched pavement. Isn’t mother nature just amazing?
In other exciting news, I have the first completed wip for October! Presenting Woven Scarf II. Okay, it’s not nearly as stunning as my first one. I’m not sure the blocks of black were a good choice. I think I probably should have gone with the same warp yarn through out the entire scarf. Yarns behave completely different when weaving than they do when knitting. I’m still figuring out my weaving style and what works well togehter. Fortunately, the British Hubby is very excited I’m finally weaving and is already proudly wearing this scarf. I think it’s a bit ugly, but I’m glad he likes it.
I’m a bit nervous for my first warp at home. It looked so easy when I was working at the yarn store with the safety net of the weaving instructor. I’m going to try it out this weekend. I suspect I’m going to have some help from my feline friends. Look at all that fluff!
Stay tuned for news on our first Ulysses ride in the rain.
