The First Completed Wip of 2018

What do we live for if not to make life less difficult for each other? ~ Roger Bannister

This past holiday season, I felt the need to cast on numerous projects for other people. Normally, I don’t knit that many gifts and the ones I do tackle I try to work on all year long. I always seem to underestimate the amount of time it takes me to knit a small project. Of course, if I had any type of project monogamy I would actually finish projects at a reasonable rate. 008I’m very excited to introduce my first completed project for 2018. Even more exciting, I plan to give them away to one very lucky coworker. Normally, I feel a little bad when I give gifts late, but this year I decided a handmade gift surprise is great at any time. I proudly present, Cloudshine Staghorns. These fingerless gloves are the perfect size to wear around the house or when your out running errands. It’s also a free pattern. 016.JPG

It’s Friday night. I’m celebrating with my new favorite tea, Brunch in Paris Black Tea from Plum Deluxe Tea. Cocoa nibs and orange pieces are fantastic together. I’m also having pumpkin pound cake with a hit of cream. I love this low carb/low sugar recipe warmed up. And yes, I am eating my cake first! 007The PNW had record breaking highs on Monday. I had the back door open for a bit of fresh air. The call of the wild is too much to resist for Burt and Ernie. Or maybe it’s the scent of the wild from the safety inside?

I hope everyone’s weekend is off to a fantastic start celebrating life. I’m off to get ready for my urban hike tomorrow.
