Signs of Spring

The Earth laughs in flowers.

The past week we’ve had quite the cold spell. Winter refuses to make way for Spring. The 10 day forecast contains highs barely above freezing. Today, there were off and on snow flurries. Feeling a little bummed that the cold temperatures are going to last forever, I noticed green sprouts coming up on our back deck. It maybe cold now, but Spring is just around the corner. 006It seemed like a great place for a group photo of the hats I’ve cast on this month. Notice, all new projects with no finished projects yet this month. Eek, how did that happen? I’m making good progress on Alpinus I so I started on Alpinus II while we were staying on Vashon last weekend. The red yarn is Malabrigo Rastita in Cereza. I’m enjoying this pattern. I foresee a few more Alpinus hats in the future. 007.JPGI also cast on a Bold Betty Hat. The pattern is Sockhead Slouch Hat with my new Bold Betty yarn in honor of Jeanette Rankin. I was sharing my Bold Betty impulse yarn purchase with a coworker that loved the idea of hand knits inspired by famous women in history. This first Bold Betty hat is for my coworker. I’m empowering people through hand knits. 012It’s been so chilly, Burt let me cover him up. 004.JPG There’s still one more new cast on yet to make an appearance. Stay tuned for that later this week.
