May Day and Day 1 Sans Ernie

“A man is not idle because he is absorbed in thought. There is visible labor and there is an invisible labor.” — Victor Hugo

Happy May Day! May 1 has many traditions. For some it’s the return of Spring and a renewed gift of life. This can be celebrated by leaving baskets of flowers on their neighbors door steps. This date also marks the first day children can go barefoot. We’re all familiar with the dancing around the May pole. It’s also International Laborers Day. Do you have a favorite way to celebrate May 1? We celebrate by turning off the heat. 008.JPGErnie update: The treatment center said Ernie is very socially motivated. No surprise there. He loves to be petted and snuggled. He’s very happy and is eating. It’s a 50/50 chance he’ll come home Wednesday or Thursday. Burt and Gracie are taking turns on snuggle duty.
