Vacationing in the Off Season

One way to make the most out of life is to look upon it as an adventure. ~ William Feather

If you’ve been following the blog for a bit, you know the British Hubby and I enjoy slightly more unusual vacations. We love vacationing on Ulysses. While we did think about taking it, sadly it needs a part to make it safe for road travel. Given the snowy conditions, part delivery has been delayed. Not to mention it would be really really cold on Ulysses now. Eek, I just shivered writing that sentence.

View waiting for the ferry.

We decided to take a warmer vehicle on our February excursion. Isn’t the view above stunning? That was our view while waiting for our maiden voyage to Orcas Island.

Here’s the view as we’re departing the port. It was so cold the wind chill was making my eyes water.

Ferry stop at Lopez Island.

This is the first ferry ride we’ve been on with multiple stops. Not to mention it was the longest at over an hour!

While we’re off to have an island adventure, what do the kitties get up to? Maybe one day we’ll vacation with them.
