Anyone who has a continuous smile on his face conceals a toughness that is almost frightening. ~ Greta Garbo
If you’ve ever lived in part of the British Empire, you will know what Boxing Day is all about. December 26 is Boxing Day in the United Kingdom. Servants were expected to serve the holiday feast on Christmas so Boxing Day became the holiday for servants. Let’s face it in the UK, unless you’re the Queen, you’re a servant of some form or another. (I’m not sure this only applies to the UK.)
We typically have some form of lamb on Boxing Day. This year we’re changing it up with Black Pudding from our favorite British Pantry. It’s accompanied by a local stout. Naturally, I’ve fallen in love with a limited release edition that has tones of coffee, caramel and chocolate. It’s amazing!

The kitties celebrated Boxing Day with Meowbox! What lucky kitties.
That sounds yummy! Thanks for explaining Boxing Day to me. But really, isn’t the Queen a servant, too? Her time is really not her own.
