Celebrating Life with Surprise Flowers and Cocktail Umbrellas

Sometimes you will never know the true value of a moment until it becomes a memory.

It seems like just yesterday we were celebrating life with Scottie Dogs and Ducks! Yet another week has passed. It’s the first Friday in September, and if you live in the States it’s a 3 day holiday weekend. An extra day added to my weekend is reason enough to celebrate, but wait there’s more! This week, the British Hubby surprised me with a mini bouquet for my wfh work space. It was totally unexpected. Every time I catch a glimpse of the blooms, it puts a smile on my face. It’s amazing how much a random act of kindness can change one’s perspective.

I also had cocktail sticks arrive this week. One word of wisdom: one should not shop for cocktail supplies while consuming cocktails. Unless of course, the goal is to have a variety of cocktail umbrellas and fun cocktail straws that will probably out last one’s lifetime. It sure has upped the Friday night fun!

I leave you with this sunflower that reminds me of a sunrise. I challenge you this next week to perform a random act of kindness. It doesn’t have to be a grande gesture or cost anything. Just spread a little cheer.

  1. You lucky thing – my hubby may have forgotten how to be romantic ! I might have to mention your post – there again, he is working from home so he think he’d get flowers from me – he’s more likely to approve of a bottle of beer or bar of choccy ! Random act of kindness, you’ve got me thinking there. I am in isolation after a return from holiday – might have to put it off a week or so.
