The one who falls and gets back up is so much stronger than one who never falls.
It’s been another two weeks. The British Hubby is still sole working from home. I’m mostly working from home. These two weeks have felt a bit like an eternity. Could be because we hit the year mark on COVID-19 being taken seriously in this country. Could be because the days are getting longer and that some how makes time stretch further. Could be I’m just busier at the day job which makes each week stretch out forever. The Spring is always busy at my day job. This year, I’ve been so busy I haven’t even cast on a project yet for Malabrigo March. I see a weekend looming on the horizon so there will be at least one cast-on. Maybe even two!

What’s been happening these two weeks? So much stuff, I can’t remember any of it. That of course means it wasn’t really that important to begin with. The biggest news the past few days has been the federal mandate that all pre-school and K-12 educational empoloyees qualify for vaccinations immediately. Dear followers, I have my first appointment Saturday morning. I don’t think I’ve been this excited to get a shot before ever! I can’t thank the healthcare community enough. THANK YOU! And to your families that have made sacrifices and lived through some scary times. THANK YOU!
SkeinHerder Ponders: These past two weeks I’ve mostly been thinking about this CWA knitting competition. In particular, the 1971 competition. In case you haven’t seen it, it’s posted above. Oh my dear followers, I think I’ve missed my calling here. When time travel becomes real, I’m going back to see this live! And maybe even try to compete!

I leave you with a sleeping Burt. Isn’t he a cutie?
I love that competition!! “Controversial European technique” … I mean really. That was awesome, thanks for sharing! 😀

Right, that made me giggle. These always make me wonder what future knitters or crafters will say about us.

I also thought it was interesting that the knitters were mostly in the older crowd. Not like today’s knitters at all!

I wonder if younger knitters have less experience and just aren’t fast enough to compete? Or were there no younger knitters around then like it wasn’t cool during that time? Not that I’ve ever thought of myself as hip or cool, but I’m glad that’s less of a stigma now.
