Presenting the eight liberated Orphans of May!
In no particular order:
- Mecha Rye
- Holiday Hitchhiker
- Oceans of Malabrigo
- Citron Grande
- Baby Blanket
- Frogged Sweater
- Silky Hat
- Basia Hat
When I began this journey, I wanted to finish my long forgotten projects over the next 10 months. That equated to about eight projects every month. Some months will be more challenging than others (okay, not casting on eight more projects will be the real challenge). Accomplishing my goal this first month, seemed a crucial milestone on this quest.
Yesterday, I was busy making a pom-pom, sewing on buttons and weaving in more ends. Weaving in ends is my arch nemesis.
This was the first time I used a commercial pom-pom maker. It’s pretty nifty. In a few simple steps, you have a fantastic pom-pom. The purple Basia hat, on the right, is going to be for my sister. It’s Malabrigo Worsted in Violettas. The hat on the left is Malabrigo in Silky. I have no idea what pattern it is, but it now has buttons and is ready to adorn a head.
Yesterday, I managed to snap this photo while our family watched a movie together. Gracie has always sort of hated Burt. She would randomly just walk by and hiss at him. They must have signed a peace treaty. Or maybe she is mellowing out in her middle age.
Stay tuned for the Orphans of June.
