On Friday, I was greeted by two yarn packages in my mailbox. I can’t think of a better way to end a particularly stressful work week. There is just something about a handwritten note that makes it feel extra special.
One of the yarn retailers was having a Labor Day Sale last weekend. You may have noticed already that I like to knit with Malabrigo when I can. I do knit with other brands, but it’s less frequent.
Here’s a group photo of my new lovelies. I did branch out and try a new to me sock yarn (I need to have options for 2017 Tour de Sock).
Top row: Rios in Lavanda and Niebla. Rastita in Zarzarmora, Marte and Nomeolvides.
Bottom Row: Sock in Violeta Africana, Persia and Diana. Happy Feet in Crayon. Finito in Archangel, Arco Iris and Lavanda.
The Lavanda Rios will be part of the next matching Milo and Aviatrix combo set. The rest are headed into my stash. My goal was to try colorways I don’t normally pick. I think some are destined to be new shawls from Curls 2 and some are destined to be gifts.
Update on other wips:
- Earth & Sky: This is waiting for it’s next modeling session. I’m holding my breath in anticipation. It might just be long enough to start the border! EEKK
- Portland Bias Scarf: Skein two has 6.16 grams left.
- Frank in Pairs & Dewberry Dancer: Last week, I caught these two binge watching Game of Thrones on HBO. At least, they aren’t galavanting in the countryside.
Today was a lounge around type of day. You can just make out Burt’s cute little paw on the bottom level.
Beautiful yarns and I agree that there’s nothing like a bit of mail to lift you up- especially when it contains yarn!
