I love living in the Pacific Northwest. One of my favorite aspects of the PNW is how passionate people are about the outdoors and wildlife. Even in urban areas one can find acres of land dedicated to natural habitats for wildlife or wildlife corridors. I recently discovered the first wildlife crossing started construction in 2016. You can read more about it here. This just makes my heart happy.

Today, I completed hike number four on our 52 hike challenge. The British Hubby and I live close to some wildlife preserves. I didn’t make it out into the mountains, but I was able to escape civilization for a little while with a short three mile hike. We crossed a partially frozen stream and saw some unusual ice formations. Isn’t mother nature amazing!

It’s warmed up to just above freezing, but it looks like it’s a brief reprieve. With a little luck, we’ll have more snow and maybe a few more finished projects this week.
