Sock Sensations

Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine. ~ Anthony D’Angelo

Last year, I decided I needed to have more vibrant socks for those gloomy overcast days in winter. You know the ones I’m talking about when you can’t really figure out if it’s morning or afternoon. I’ve been making slow progress on an adaptation of Rye socks. I just finished the gusset decreases on sock number one. One of the great things about knitting worsted weight socks, I’m not that far from starting the toe decreases. Regular socks would still have hours and hours of knitting time yet. Here’s a progress photo of my KC & the Sunshine Band socks. My feet are going to be rays of sunshine!

I had another attempt at these Garlic Butter Mashed Sweet Potatoes. This time I managed not to set off the smoke detectors. The British Hubby has been enjoying a lovely garlic spread. It made a great addition. I added a dollop on each sweet potato towards the end of cooking.

Update on other wips:

  • Frank in Paris: Still working towards Paris stripe number four.
  • Dewberry Dancer: 72 rows completed in section two.
  • Project Peace: No new progress on this one.

Ernie found a new sleep spot in my craft room. What’s not to love about sleeping on a bed of yarn?

I wound some yarn tonight. Here’s a sneak peak at my new projects. Stay tuned for more info.
