If I knew you were coming, I’ld a baked a cake.
Purpura is Latin for purple. Now that Malabrigo March is over, the Malabrigo Junkie group is running a color along for the month of April over on Ravlery. Can you guess the color? It’s Purple! Purple just so happens to be my all time favorite color, and it has been since I was little. Sometimes, I try to act like I’m over my love affair with purple, and I wear other colors,.Those are just short lived flings. I love purple, and I always will.
Shockingly, I had only had one wip in purple, and it’s a project I started last month. Of course this means I’m casting on two more purple projects. You can see my group photo above.
- Meandering Lace Shawl in Lace color Carine. The pattern is Ley Lines.
- Dewberry Entrapment in Finito colors Dewberry & Natural. The pattern is Entrapment.
- African Violet Shawl in Sock colors African Violet & Lettuce. The pattern is Fallston.
I know I probably shouldn’t be casting on two more projects when I’m attempting to finish others, but I like to knit dangerously.
This weekend, I had a chance to try another cake recipe from Baking with Mary Berry. Here’s my first attempt at a pineapple upside down cake. It reminds me of spring with the vibrant yellow and orange. It’s a little crumbly, but tastes amazing.
Here’s Ernie modeling my Dewberry Entrapment. I’m pretty excited about this hat even if Ernie isn’t. Maybe it will look better on Burt.
