Weekend Rewards

The happiest of people don’t necessarily have the best of everything they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.

This was a short weekend for me. While the British Hubby returned home on Friday (always cause for celebrations), I had a surprise project land on my workload that required some work this weekend. Thus my weekend relaxation and celebrations are shorter, but just as heart felt. No time this weekend to try a new  bread recipe. Sometimes, I freeze half the loaf of fresh bread. It comes in handy for weeks I don’t have time to make a fresh loaf.

This afternoon, I relaxed with a glass of wine, snuggles with Ernie and some sock knitting. Above, is a progress photo of the British Hubby’s Glazed Lumberjacks. The contrasting stripes and heel has kept this basic sock pattern interesting. I’m slowly chugging along on sock one.

We also decided to grill out in between rain showers. Look at this amazing asparagus. Yum.

I caught a candid shot this afternoon of Ernie and Burt. Burt is mid-wash, does that make this a risque cat photo?

It’s the last week of April, I still need to finish or frog six wips! Will I make it?

  1. Mr Midnight and Sir Winston, the two furry protagonists ofrom our blog “Gilmours Nice Place”, say they simply love Ernie and Burt. They both differed in opinion upon your comment about mid-washing being a risque photo. Mr Midnight says it´s the modern thing these days and is allowed while Sir Winston, still believing in the old-establishment, added that a bit of privacy is something cats still like to have. Thank you for posting and meow, purr purr and kind regards from the three of us. 🙂
