More Books, Bold Betties & Mittens

They thought I was a Surrealist, but I wasn’t I never painted dreams. I painted my own reality. ~ Frida Kahlo

Last week, I finished another audio book commuting. Call of Cthulhu and other Stories by H.P. Lovecraft. This was a collection of short stories that had me so frightened I almost had to sleep with a night light one night. The first few started off tame enough, but by the end I was very glad I wasn’t listening to these at night. I’m not going to give away the plot here only that I will never plant wiper willow trees. Next up, Man’s Search for Meaning. (I know that sounds rather intense for my commute.) 002Next is my March Bold Betty yarn. The yarn is Biscotte bis-sock, Frida Kahlo Inspiration. I’ve used this yarn for socks before. It’s fantastic. The yarn is inspired by Frida Kahlo. I love the vibrant colors in the yarn and Frida’s work. Frida started painting when she was in a body cast recovering from a bus accident. She had over 30 operations in her lifetime. I think this yarn is going to be for me. I’m going to have bold vibrant socks with the pattern, Aquaphobia. Everyone should have passionate socks. 018.JPG

Mitten Update:

  • Glehnii: I’m on mitten two. These are turning out a bit big.
  • 21 Colors: I’m on color four! Last weekend, I noticed my LYS has a matching hat kit. I see another new project in my near future.
  • Grandma Gateway: I’m just finishing the ribbing on mitten one. IMG_20180411_1915011Part of the fun of having cats is torturing them with their own fluff. Check out Gracie’s comb over.
