Ignorance, the root and stem of all evil.

This Friday brought joy and sadness. Friday night is Godzilla movie night. Shin Godzilla is our very last Godzilla movie. There are some other fringe movies and anime which as Godzilla fans we will watch, but this is our last proper movie until Godzilla: King of the Monsters. This movie was fantastic and not just by my Godzilla movie standards. It won seven Japanese Academy Awards including best film in 2017. If you haven’t seen this movie, drop what you’re doing right now and go watch it.

The beginning is a little slow and you’ll probably think, “How is this the best Godzilla movie ever,” but stick with it. The British Hubby and I were pleasantly surprised.

Sure, this movie was a bit of a slow burn. It was not at all what I was expecting from a Godzilla movie. And yet, I was riveted to my seat. Many times I even stopped knitting!

Doesn’t Godzilla look formidable? I always end up rooting for the monster. Maybe one day, humanity will learn how to live with Godzilla.

I didn’t actually knit that much during Shin Godzilla. I completed a few more rows on Teal Feather Gluhwein. This project was stalled while I waited for the second skein of yarn to arrive. It’s back on track and could be the next completed project from Malabrigo March 2019.

Friday night is also Cheep and Cheerful. I’ve been trying to clear out the stouts to make room for lighter spring time drinks. (Naturally, this doesn’t apply to our beloved Guinness of which we always keep a six pack on hand for any Guinness related emergencies.) Raspy Whisper bridges the gap between cider and stout. It’s a hardy stout that has a tang of a cider.

Burt’s trying his best Godzilla impression. I don’t think Japan or the PNW should worry. Still time to entry the Malabrigo March Give Away for the lovely hat in Friday’s post.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend so far. Just 54 days and 9 hours until the next Godzilla movie.
