Haunted Handwarmers: Day 2

Believe nothing you hear and only half that you see. ~ Edgar Allen Poe

I was researching spooky Halloween/Autumnal quotes when I discovered the above quote from Poe. While it is especially apropos for Halloween and fancy dress parties, it also seems relevant to news headlines and political rhetoric in this country right now.

Day 2 for the Haunted Handwarmers was only 1 row of knitting. It took me longer to write this post and take photos than it did to knit. I was really tempted to open day three at the same time, but I’m trying to have 13 different surprises to spread out the fun.

Day 2 is the first addition of color to set-up the colorwork pattern. I love watching colorwork scenes come to life. It’s rather magical to see knitted stitches create a picture. This is my very first colorwork with a Halloween flair. What will Day 3 reveal?

We have some old favorites that make it into Monster Mayhem every year. This year, I’m trying to branch out with new movies and shows from other countries and cultures. I’m including a Nordic Noir I discovered on Acorn TV. Shows about serial killers are always scary! We watched the first season of Wisting. It was so gripping at times I had to use my knitting to cover my eyes! Season one was fantastic. I can’t wait for season two!

  1. The Invisible Guardian
  2. The Legacy of Bones
  3. Offering to the Storm
  4. The Wolf Man
  5. Wisting

Gracie’s trying not to show the fear. What’s this skull doing?!
