Craftvent Day 11

Do what is right, not what is easy.

It’s the last week of January. It’s cold and sunny this morning. It’s very tempting to cast on a new project and let my momentum on my craftvent scarves wan. Working on two scarves means each day takes twice as long. Typically, this is exactly when I start to lose interest in bigger projects. The end product seems so far away and the excitement has lost some of it’s allure. Or maybe I’m just slightly sad we put our holiday decorations and lights away?

The lace section in day 11 resembles candles especially on Cinnamon Sugar scarf with the liquid gold colorway. It reminds me of flickering flames with a warm inviting glow. You can sort of make it out on the photo with Burt below. The self care crafting calendar provided me with a fun bracelet. I love fun jewelry like this. Eventually, my pajama pants will not be my primary outfit. I’ll have something shiny when that day arrives.

  • Days 1 – 8: I decided to chunk this section into three groups of eight so it doesn’t get too long. Click the link to check out tea or knitting paraphernalia from previous days.
  • Day 9:Contrasting yarn for the next transitional lines and fisherman’s rib sections. The crafters self-care calendar included mints in a fun tin, a leather handmade tag and crochet tool for fixing mistakes. I had two more amazing teas. The first was Almond Oolong from Adagio. The second was Vanilla Bean from Lizzy Kate.
  • Day 10: Two Churchmouse patterns, two swan snips and one gift card to Apple Yarns. Today I had two luscious teas from Plum Deluxe. Plum Pudding Dessert Tea and Coconut a la Creme Black Tea. Yumm.
  • Day 11: Yarn for lace section four and fun bracelet. Apparently, I only drank plum deluxe tea while working on Day 11. I had two lovely caffeine free teas with Custard Apple Herbal and Caramel Snickerdoodle Dessert tea. I’m trying to drink no caffeine after sunset. These were both perfect. The last one was Gratitude Blend Black tea with I think might actually have been a left over from 2019. Either way, I’m thankful for it now.

When it’s cold and drizzly, soup and sarnie are perfect especially when it’s all keto friendly. I love eating my favorite comfort foods knowing I’m not totally wracking my food plan. My workout plan could use some inspiration, but right now we’re taking one day at a time and focusing on the positives. Being able to dip my ham sandwich in my tomato bisque, makes my heart smile.

SkeinHerder’s Songs: Today I’ve been trying to get more movement in my daily routine. To help with that, I’ve been listening to Disco Funk so I can have a dance party while working. I dare you not break out in a disco move. This is a mix of 70’s disco and early 80’s funk.

May this find you movin’ and groovin’.
