Competition has been shown to be useful up to a certain point and no further, but cooperation, which is the thing we must strive for today, begins where competition leaves off. ~ FDR
Earlier in June, I mentioned Tour-de-Sock (TDS). The international sock knitting competition inspired by Tour-de-France. Stage one finished Wednesday morning. There are about 610 completed pairs of socks in the same pattern! It’s sock insanity. Last year, I decided to cast on other sock patterns if I didn’t love the TDS pattern. This was my own form of insanity. I really did not need more projects. This year I decided to take a slightly different approach. I’m pulling out a sock wip when I don’t love the TDS pattern. My first sock wip is from Junkie U 2017. It was my first attempt at intarsia in the round. It sounds much harder than it actually is. I love how the lace panel looks. It’s a burst of bright color. Great for the gloomy rainy winter days in the PNW. I just need to kitchener stitch the second sock toe and I have a completed pair of socks. Somehow, I seem to have less knitting time now that the World Cup has finished. I’m not sure exactly how that’s possible.
This past weekend, I caught Gracie sunbathing in a rather unusual spot. She’ll do anything to sleep in the sun.
