Live for the moments you can’t put into words.
The British Hubby and I often do a Ural weekend getaway on this holiday weekend in the States. We like finding some historic town or artist fair to dine, shop and relax. Remember the Escape to Camano Island? One of the many things we like about traveling is finding a secluded location to escape the hustle and bustle of normal living. Now that the hustle and bustle of living is more of a trickle, and nature has taken back many suburban neighborhoods we decided to stay home, support our local businesses and enjoy mother nature in our own backyard. So far we’ve enjoyed deer, hummingbirds, dragonflies, a myriad of birds and the bunnies. I suspect the summer will have more Ural adventures.

We would normally have a meal or two filled with carbs. We decided to honor our favorite British Pub by ordering our favorite meals to go, Red Leicester Bacon Cheeseburgers. I enjoyed the chips (fries if your American) and stout. My digestive tract may not have been as excited, and I know I’m going hate the sugar withdrawal this week, but these little splurges remind me why I’m choosing the sugar free/carb free lifestyle.
We also splurged with some British chocolates, biscuits and baked goods. I can never resist chocolate Scotty dog biscuits, and now I’ve discovered the chocolate chip variety! I already gobbled up the almond tart.

Deciding what knitting projects to take is always a challenge when we travel. I think most of my luggage ends up being knitting and books. This weekend, I’ve been working on my MM20 projects. More details on that this week. I’ve also become quite taken by Pacific Sky Scarf. It’s grown quite a bit since last Friday. I love watching the colors subtly change as a I knit the repeats. Burt loves snuggling with the yarn. It’s as soft as kitten fluff.

Memorial Day is often one day where we honor our soldiers in the Armed Forces. This year I would like to add essential and health care workers to that list. Thank you to any one that puts their lives on the line for others. The world is a better place because of your sacrifice.
Great post 😁
