He just dropped in for a quick bite. ~ Bond
I’ve been trying to write this post for the past few days, but with the passing of Ruther Bader Ginsburg it just felt unimportant. Then I tried to write a post honoring RBG, but I couldn’t find the right words to do it justice either just yet. I recognize the irony of mentioning RBG in a Bond post. She fought for equality, and Bond movies can be rather degrading and sexist at times. By studying the past, maybe we can avoid those same mistakes in the future.

The Spy Who Loved Me is movie number 10 in our Bond movie marathon. It has that late 70’s vibe with shag carpet, body hair and a love anthem theme song by Carly Simon.
This was the first Bond movie the British Hubby saw in the theatre. Naturally, this movie holds a special place in his heart. He especially loved all the gadgets. Not only does this Lotus have missiles, but it that can operate underwater too. Perhaps this movie is the beginning of the British Hubby’s love affair with motorized vehicles?

This watch was pretty cool. Is this the first text messaging?

It’s an interesting idea that this Bond villain has a deadly bite. Watch out for those choppers.

This could be the neatest villain lair yet. It can be submerged in the ocean. Talk about secret!

Overall, this movie had a bit more Saturday morning cartoon vibe than the previous movies. It went well with our traditional Friday night pizza.

I leave you with a close up of Ernie sleeping. He’s such a lover, I don’t think he would mind me sharing this. Isn’t he adorable? He’s one cute kitty!

Hug someone you love today. If you have to social distance, send them a virtual hug.
