Friday the 13th Part 1 and Part 2

“You see, Jason was my son, and today is his birthday.” ~ Friday the 13th

Many people fear Friday the 13th. Did you know Alfred Hitchcock was born on Friday, August 13, 1899? He was destined to produce great horror, drama and suspense movies. For a month to have a Friday the 13th, it must begin on a Sunday. This happens twice in 2020. November is the second. March was the first. Here on the blog, we like to celebrate Friday the 13th. Here’s one in 2019 and another in 2016. We won’t have another until August 2021. When you realize how rare this date actually is, it’s worth celebrating instead of fearing.

Can you guess the movies we watched? We took a break from our Bond quest to watch Friday the 13th and Friday the 13th Part 2. Now that these movies are hitting the 40 year anniversary, they are more of a cult classic than actually scary. The British Hubby and I had never seen part 2. Turns out there are 12 movies in this franchise. It’s hard to believe any one would book a stay at Camp Crystal after the first two serial murders set up shop there.

We had our usual high protein pizza by Quest. It looks like they have several more varieties than our local store carries. I would love to try the spinach and mushroom variety. Yum! I also tried a new to me stout, Dragon’s Milk. It was happiness in a bottle!

During two movies, I managed to complete a project. Here’s Friday the 13th Gobble Gobble! It’s a turkey inspired lime green dishcloth. I think you can just make out the turkey above.

Friday the 13th doesn’t frighten Gracie. Look at how she sleeps during the movie.
