Celebrating Life: Godzilla vs. Kong

“Nature has a way sometimes of reminding Man of just how small he is. She occasionally throws up terrible offspring’s of our pride and carelessness to remind us of how puny we really are in the face of a tornado, an earthquake, or a Godzilla. The reckless ambitions of Man are often dwarfed by their dangerous consequences. For now, Godzilla – that strangely innocent and tragic monster – has gone to earth. Whether he returns or not, or is never again seen by human eyes, the things he has taught us remain…” ~ Raymond Burr

If you’ve been a following the blog for a bit, you know the British Hubby and I have watched every single Godzilla movie created. In fact, Godzilla: King of the Monsters was one of the last movies we saw in the theatre before COVID-19. We are celebrating life this week with the release of the official Godzilla vs. Kong trailer. Have you seen it? Just in case you missed it, I’ve included it below.

Okay, if you’re a Godzilla fan like us you’re probably having mixed emotions. Excited for another Godzilla movie, but is Godzilla being portrayed as the bad guy? Sure he’s destructive, but he comes out to save mother earth. He’s the ultimate defender of our planet. This helps explain what’s likely going on. Mind control or aliens? You decide.

Personally, I would like to see Kong and Godzilla both survive the movie. In the original Kong movie, it’s beauty that kills the beast. It’s always fun to see how directors weave these two legends together, and we can’t wait!

How is your weekend going? How will you celebrate life?
